NY resolutions

Here’s blog 2349i32490 about New Years Resolutions, but they’ve got to be done!

I find I always make new resolutions, but because they’re not measurable, I never know whether I have achieved what I originally set out to.
So here’s me trying out some smart resolutions, hopefully in a years time I can go back and reflect on what I have stuck to!

#1 Create a healthier lifestyle for myself

I could have called this ‘lose weight’, but I think what a lot of people miss is the reasons behind losing weight. It might be that you want to fit into that dress you looked incredible in on your birthday, or you want all eyes on you when you’re on the beach in summer. But what it all boils down to is having more self-esteem. I started with a personal trainer at the back end of 2016, when I started I was on Slimming World, desperately waiting for my weigh-in day to be a positive one. My mindset changed from wanting to lose lbs to becoming stronger and healthier. I am so much happier eating things that I know are good for me, rather than things SW tell me are too many syns. I LOVE YOU AVOCADO.

#2 Stop worrying about my blog content so much

I have definitely worried too much about what I post here, whether people will like it, whether it fits in with the “blogging culture” and honestly I feel like a poo head for even feeling that way, it’s not all about ‘whats in my bag’, ‘shopping haul’ and ‘what I got for Christmas’ posts. I love reading posts like that, but they’re not me. Unless the shopping haul is stationary. I could do a million of those! I will post at least once a week, anything more is a bonus!

#3 Learn to say no

This isn’t really to do with blogging, because no one asks me to do anything (lol) but in terms of my social life I need to take a break. I hate letting people down and I burn myself out keeping plans with everyone which doesn’t leave me any time for myself. MY FAMILY NEED TIFF TIME TOO. I will dedicate 2 evenings a week to seeing my parents, and as me and my love are moving out this year I will dedicate at least 1 evening to us just being creative together. He’s so lucky.

#4 Draw anything and everything

Just like blogging, I overthink what I create. It has really dampened my creativity and I hate that. The other day I wanted to draw a seal with sweetcorn for teeth, my friend told me a story and it’s all I could imagine, and I never created it because I thought it was stupid. Why? I don’t know, ask my brain. I received the most incredible book for Christmas, and I am going to draw every day to keep my juices flowing. Yesterday I drew 2 dragonflies, I don’t think I’ve ever drew dragonflies in my life!

#5 Continue to do the things I love

This year, I started two projects which I am really excited about continuing. I started volunteering at the Nagarjuna Buddhist Centre, also known as the World Peace Cafe in Leicester. I’m helping them to update their website and increase their social media presence, it’s been so fun to throw ideas into the mix that I don’t have to worry about being great, as I’m not being paid to have them! It’s helping me increase my confidence in my ideas, and I’ll be starting meditation classes in the new year!

The second project I have started is Le Doodle Crew, a place for creatives on Twitter to share their ideas and creations, and can also ask for advice if they’re suffering from a creative block. Right now it’s just a page that retweets artist’s work, but I am so excited to implement my plan. I just hope followers will be engaged!

Anywho, they’re my resolutions. 24th year the charm eh? I wonder where I will be this time next year, hopefully not moping about doing jack shit all year…

I think setting yourself realistic goals is the best thing to do, cause I’ve definitely been guilty of ‘Ok this is the year I get a VS angel body’ and then been really annoyed for not achieving it😂 Silly me! Can’t wait to see lots of fun, creative content from you in the New Year!!

Love your number one gal pal 💕

Amazing photo! I can completely relate to the last point – for me, I haven’t really had the time to enjoy my hobbies such as blogging and reading which makes me sad, so I really want to reorganise my life to have enough ‘me time’.

Health is so much more important than weight. I was disheartened last year when I was putting on weight but then when I looked in the mirror, I had more muscle than ever before! Confidence and mindset are incredibly important! What an amazing thing to do in your free time: volunteering! If I had more spare time, I’d love to!

Love all of these goals! I need to stop overthinking my blogging content as well, I worry so much about what others think so it puts me off doing what I want! And goodluck with your two projects! Your volunteer work sounds so exciting, I would to do something like that!

Having resolutions you can actually look back on and see if you’ve done what you wanted to is a nice idea! Yours seem like things you can take with you all the way through the year – do what you want with your blog content, it’s your space and make sure you look after yourself girl!! xx
