I was lucky enough to be whisked away to the “happiest city in the world” aka Copenhagen!

Instead of writing a long lengthy review about where I went, where I ate, where I stayed and what I wore, I’m going to write my 7 favourite things about this weekend. This trip was amazing, I just wanted to take it all in. I already felt a bit of a pain for asking to have my photo taken in the first place for memory purposes! So it was dedicated to spending time making memories with my numbero uno.

ONE: Copenhagen Zoo

This place at a bargain of £20 (exchange rate depending) is a MUST if you’re planning a trip to Copenhagen. It’s huge, affordable and THERE ARE POLAR BEARS. Honestly, you name an animal, you will see it at Copenhagen Zoo. I will say though, that there is two parts to it and one is so much better than the other, I will leave you to decide which you think is best.

TWO: Street Food Festival – Papiroen

Walking over to what looked like an industrial estate surrounded by storage containers, I wasn’t completely convinced. As soon as I walked through the doors I was blown away, incredible variety, such a good range of vegetarian and vegan options, and such a cool vibe! I tried the fake pulled pork burger, and it was pretty good! I wish I was able to spend more time here, and eat more food, but we were pathetic and could only manage one burger… I’m still disappointed in us.

THREE: The Standard

High quality food at not as affordable prices, but boy was I glad we went. We decided to go for a quick bite to eat once we arrived at the hotel, and The Standard was pretty much opposite our hotel; thumbs up! We sat down and after we realised how much we would be spending, we decided to make the most of it. I also had THE MOST AMAZING COCKTAIL which just set the mood nicely, it had bee pollen in… sorry that’s all the information I have… Oooh and gin!

FOUR: Nyhaven Pizza

After being caught in a rainstorm, we took shelter in a pizza place just around the corner from the bars along the river. It looked like a takeaway place you head at the end of a boozy night, but it had such a lovely vibe, and the owner was very accommodating! I tried off in the toilet and as soon as I got back we were told there was a space available (WOO). It was adorable, like a little den with hand painted colourful houses surrounding us, a tribute to the famous colourful buildings in Copenhagen. The food was spot on and the beers were cheap too! I think we worked out that my pizza cost only a little bit more than what The Standard had charged us for water! The best place for out anniversary meal, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

FIVE: Christiania Free Town

This place was something else, Freetown Christiania is a car-free neighbourhood where around 850 residents created a different way of life. It was established in 1971 by a “group of hippies who occupied some abandoned military barracks on the site” and they developed their own rules, own society, and is completely dependent from the Danish government. Some of the homes were incredible, so well built and intriguing.

SIX: Walking

Being away from my desk and actually exploring by foot was definitely a highlight of my trip. In 1 day we managed 30,000 steps, equivalent to 13 miles! Never thought I could do it with my gammy leg. I wish I had more opportuntities to just walk and see what I find, we actualy stumbled across some sights Nat wanted to see which would have never happened if we had took the metro!

SEVEN: Spending time with my best friend

Due to us both working full-time and having different commitments, I can’t spend as much time with my inamorato as I would like. This weekend was perfect in so many ways, and I had an absolute blast hanging out with him, being childish, walking miles, drinking beers, playing at the zoo, taking 1000 selfies and even the drive home (which took around 3 hours, eurgh). So out of all the things I have done this weekend, I would say this is my favourite.

MIND2

When you’re feeling inspired by your needs? Yep, my needs were flowers and fries!

I love drawing, so much so that I tend to criticise everything I create. I hope this is a comment trait for all artists, because it stops me from doing what I love because I set such high expectations for myself. The proof is in the pudding. I’ve had this ‘CREATE’ section on my website since I started my blog in early June, and this is the first post, in September.

How do you overcome self-loathing when it comes to your work? I feel like I need to recondition my mind.

I’ve come to the conclusion of what type of shopper I am…

I find something I love, and I stick with it. Recently I’ve been trying to only buy key pieces, and purchase things that I don’t have similar in my wardrobe already, but bomber jackets have taken over me.

So much so, that I bought 5. Yep. I. Bought. FIVE.

But now, I get to show you guys my new finds, designs and love for bomber jackets!

DENIM-BLOG-2 DENIM-BLOG-IMG

Easily my favourite purchase from Missguided, and that’s saying a lot. I love a denim jacket as much as the next 80s icon, but I felt that my jackets were very weighty, and it wasn’t really a jacket I could just throw on over an outfit. In comes this little bomb of delight. I got it for an absolute bargain of £17.50 and the quality is flawless, and I cannot rate indigo blue high enough! I adore the ribbed collar and sleeves, adding a casual vibe to my life <3 I cannot tell you how many times I’ve rocked double denim since this bad ass purchase (8, literally 8).

zara-bomb-post zara-bomber-post

Honestly, this material is so so soft I didn’t even know it was suppose to be denim. The design is so minimal and I think that’s what I love the most, this jacket has smartened up any thrown together outfit I have created and I am eternally grateful to Zara for that! The quality for this is unreal for £25.99, they also do it in blue which I am 100% going to treat myself to, hurray for #6!

khaki-bomber-postkhaki-post

Unfortunately this khaki wonder is out of stock 🙁 which isn’t surprising as I got it from New Look for £11!! So the link will just take you to all the bombers that New Look have to offer, this long line bomber is one of my favourites for a night out, it’s light enough to not make you hot and sweaty when gettin’ down in the clurrrrb! I can’t remember how much this bomber was originally suppose to be, but I would definitely trust in New Look for all your bomber needs, their silky ones look INCREDIBLE!

vel-blog velvet-blog

Tah-dah! This silky velvet bomber is everything that 90s me wanted and more, do they sell the matching joggers? This super smooth bomber is the ultimate statement piece, for £34.99. I have so many nostalgic feels in this I cannot contain it! I still haven’t found the outfit that it’ll complete, but I am willing to wait. I want to stroke it forever and always.

OH MY GOD DO YOU LOVE IT AS MUCH AS I DO?

I actually cannot deal with the love I have for this item of clothing. This jacket in my heart was worth every penny, at £48 this is my favourite statement piece. The lining is silver satin, and it makes me swoon. The quality is undoubtably beautiful, and I’ve been able to wear this with so much more than I expected, I especially love how much it matches my pink(ish) tint in my hair, goals for sure. The embroidered flower detail is exquisite and highly compliments the metallic accent. Ahh this jacket gives me chills. You can also get this in black, but (in my opinion) has nothing on this one!

So are you loving bomber jackets as much as I am? If not more? If you have more than 5 I want to see them, and I will most definitely be purchasing them!

Note to self: it is SO hard trying to take your own pictures?! Sorry for my snotty moody face.

Hey all! I have been nominated by the beaut that is Jessica Kennedy to take part in this new challenge, I need to give 7 facts about myself then proceed to nominate 5 bloggers that have less than 1000 followers (i’m basing this on twitter) SOooOoOO here it goes!

So hopefully you feel like you know a little bit more about me, although it’s not all that interesting! I am nominating the following babes:

Enjoy girls! Can’t wait to read your 7 facts!

Heaven has sent an angel, and his name is Shane Jackson.

For those of you that do not know, I am partial to a hair appointment. I LOVE getting my hair done, and I LOVE sitting in a hairdressing chair being pampered for a couple of hours, feeling like a fresh new gal when I walk out the door onto the streets of Leicester my runway. As you can imagine, I was intrigued and slightly terrified trying out a new hairdressers. My hair is my pride and joy, but after attending the amazing hair event at Rush Hair and Beauty I had to see what it was all about!

I love playing with my hair, and being blonde makes it all the more easy. I wanted to have a subtle but eye-catching change… does that make sense? Probably not. After having a chat with Shane he showed me the most beautiful pinky tint labelled Deep Iced Pearl Milkshake, I took his advice and went for it, imagine all the boys that would come to my yard?*

Due to this only being a toner, I was dubious on how it would take to my hair, and whether my hair was porous enough for it to stick, but in Shane’s words “I wouldn’t have suggested it if I didn’t think it was going to work” and boy, was he right.

I LOVE MY HAIR SO MUCH I FEEL LIKE GRUNGY CANDY FLOSS PRINCESS.

It’s expected to last around 20 washes, but I would expect that it varies for every individual. I was planning to book in again before Shane had even started to dry my hair! What great is that the more you use the toner, the more permanent it becomes, so now I’ve tipped my toe in and now I’m ready to dive into the world of ashy pink <3

Holly from Rush was also experiencing some major hair envy, which makes you love your hair even more right? She was an absolute babe and if she is working during your visit count your blessings, because she is hilarious and I was laughing with at her the whole time!

I left Rush with a new favourite drink**, a new favourite hairdresser and a new lease for life. Yes, it’s that real up in here people.

So girls, if you’re an indecisive blonde like me toying between the idea of having beach babe blonde, icy white or mermaid hair, give Rush Hair (and more importantly Shane) a chance to switch up your hair with their amazing selection of semi permanent dyes, I wish I did it so much sooner!

* No boys plz.

** I’m going to call it the Shane Snapper; orange & cranberry juice
