why I’m loving River Island

It’s become the most awkward time of the year in many ways…

  • Is it going to snow, AGAIN?
  • Why is it almost March and I haven’t got my shit together?
  • Where has all this extra weight come from?
  • WTF is Vero?
  • Will Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker ever be friends?

Therefore online retail therapy/virtual window shopping is the only solution, obviously.

I have been LOVING River Island recently, and not just because I managed to bag the colour of the season in a beautiful chunky knit for only £17! But because they’re just getting everything so right, aren’t they?

So here’s a few things I am loving right now, perfect for this confusing AF winter.

Dark grey button bell sleeve shift dress  Shop all dresses

I adore the simplicity of this dress

I’ve been trying to steer clear from darker colours and brighten up my wardrobe, but the bell sleeves and adorable tortoise-shell styled buttons are adorable. I’ve seen it in store and the fabric is incredibly soft, and I love any clothing that hangs off me rather than fitted! Perfect   with some tights and knee high boots, and I love the baker boy the model is werkin’ too, MARVELLOUS!

Orange tie front loose blouse  Shop all tops

YES. I. AM. ALL. ABOUT. WEARING. ORANGE.

Isn’t the optimum night out outfit jeans and a nice top? I am not about that short dress and heels life…

As I’m a bit self-conscious at the minute about my muffin-top, the tied front is a yes from me. This would look perfect with jeans or tucked into an a-line skirt, I would even rock this under a pair of dungarees. I’m all about a high-neck – especially because I am the coldest person you’ll ever meet (temperature wise) so to me, this blouse just has everything going for it. It comes in other colours too, you should definitely check it out.

Croc block heeled mules
shop all shoes & boots

I am IN LOVE with these yellow mules!

I know the yellow ones might not be for everyone so I’ve shown an example of the black too, but how incredible are they?

The slip on heel is a win for me. My feet always feel like they’re trapped in heels, If you have claustrophobic feet like me then mules will soon become your best pal 2k18. The burst of yellow on these will brighten anyones day that has the fortune to see you struttin’ your stuff. I love that you can wear a sock with mules too, any excuse to show off my fabulous collection, especially the abundance I just received at christmas! (shoutout to ma Frost fam)

Red woven straw stripe fringe slouch bag
shop all bags & purses

Yes, I want a woven bag in winter

The colours of this bag are gorgeous, the only part I’m not too crazy about is the white attachment on the front. Why is that there? Anyway, the chain design adds a golden detail to the overall warm palette that I am loving! I get vintage vibes from this bag, and it’s an absolute steal for £38! The fringed hem is just adorable, and I really like that only the front panel is woven, giving it that edge. Gotta love ya RI ❤

Have you found anything on River Island you’re desperate for atm? Let me know if you have – I love having a snoop at what people are digging in the fashion world!

5 BOMB-ASS BOMBERS

I’ve come to the conclusion of what type of shopper I am…

I find something I love, and I stick with it. Recently I’ve been trying to only buy key pieces, and purchase things that I don’t have similar in my wardrobe already, but bomber jackets have taken over me.

So much so, that I bought 5. Yep. I. Bought. FIVE.

But now, I get to show you guys my new finds, designs and love for bomber jackets!

DENIM-BLOG-2 DENIM-BLOG-IMG

Easily my favourite purchase from Missguided, and that’s saying a lot. I love a denim jacket as much as the next 80s icon, but I felt that my jackets were very weighty, and it wasn’t really a jacket I could just throw on over an outfit. In comes this little bomb of delight. I got it for an absolute bargain of £17.50 and the quality is flawless, and I cannot rate indigo blue high enough! I adore the ribbed collar and sleeves, adding a casual vibe to my life <3 I cannot tell you how many times I’ve rocked double denim since this bad ass purchase (8, literally 8).

Honestly, this material is so so soft I didn’t even know it was suppose to be denim. The design is so minimal and I think that’s what I love the most, this jacket has smartened up any thrown together outfit I have created and I am eternally grateful to Zara for that! The quality for this is unreal for £25.99, they also do it in blue which I am 100% going to treat myself to, hurray for #6!

khaki-bomber-postkhaki-post

Unfortunately this khaki wonder is out of stock 🙁 which isn’t surprising as I got it from New Look for £11!! So the link will just take you to all the bombers that New Look have to offer, this long line bomber is one of my favourites for a night out, it’s light enough to not make you hot and sweaty when gettin’ down in the clurrrrb! I can’t remember how much this bomber was originally suppose to be, but I would definitely trust in New Look for all your bomber needs, their silky ones look INCREDIBLE!

vel-blog velvet-blog

Tah-dah! This silky velvet bomber is everything that 90s me wanted and more, do they sell the matching joggers? This super smooth bomber is the ultimate statement piece, for £34.99. I have so many nostalgic feels in this I cannot contain it! I still haven’t found the outfit that it’ll complete, but I am willing to wait. I want to stroke it forever and always.

OH MY GOD DO YOU LOVE IT AS MUCH AS I DO?

I actually cannot deal with the love I have for this item of clothing. This jacket in my heart was worth every penny, at £48 this is my favourite statement piece. The lining is silver satin, and it makes me swoon. The quality is undoubtably beautiful, and I’ve been able to wear this with so much more than I expected, I especially love how much it matches my pink(ish) tint in my hair, goals for sure. The embroidered flower detail is exquisite and highly compliments the metallic accent. Ahh this jacket gives me chills. You can also get this in black, but (in my opinion) has nothing on this one!

So are you loving bomber jackets as much as I am? If not more? If you have more than 5 I want to see them, and I will most definitely be purchasing them!

Note to self: it is SO hard trying to take your own pictures?! Sorry for my snotty moody face.

Wedding woes, what do I wear?

Afternoon everyone, I hope wherever you are is a lot more appealing that what I can see outside of my window. Rain, rain, rain.

But, in a couple of weeks I’m heading to Brighton to a wedding, and I’ve never really been to a wedding before! That’s a lie, I’ve been to a wedding that I was also part of, but not as a guest. So understandably I’ve been a panicking pile of poop.

It’s my boyfriend’s brothers wedding, and although I’ve been with my boyfriend for some time now, I haven’t met a lot of his family. There’s so many reasons for me to panic right now!

I checked out Missguided’s “Missbrided” section, but it’s not very me, it almost seems too dressed up for a wedding, but what do I know!

I hit up ASOS to give me some ideas, and now I have 2!

So I don’t know the vibe of the wedding, as in, do I wear a nice chilled maxi and some sandals or do I go for a fitted dress? Well thanks to ASOS’s recent sale, I didn’t have to choose 😉

Formal wedding, girlfriend of the best man dress:

dress1

This beautiful dress from Closet is just my sort of dress, I love a kimono vibe and it’ll help my arms look thinner (WOO!)

It’s delicately wrapped around the waist, singeing in just the right places (hopefully) to make me look a lot more glamorous than I actually am. I adore this print too. It’s so summery and bright, and I’m normally a khaki/navy kinda girl so I’m really excited to try this, at a bargain of £30 too I might just keep it even if it doesn’t make the cut!

Super chill maxi-ng and relaxing (I know, I tried too hard):

dress2

This amazing belted maxi tea dress from Glamorous (in stock in petite) melted my heart, I am in love with the print, and I am desperate to capture a bohemian vibe for Brighton, not sure why, just am! I got this at an absolute bargain of £27.

What’s even better about this dress is that I don’t have to worry about wearing heels, because everyone knows a maxi life is lived in sandals.

Massive props to ASOS for helping a sista out with wedding woes, but I will point out I ordered these before they sent out 10% off sale items for their website being down!

Don’t worry though ASOS, love ya always xo

My Daniel Wellington beauty

So I’ve been toying with the idea of a new watch for a while, i’m quite techy so my natural assumption was that the next piece of machinery to live on my wrist (other than my Fitbit) would be a smart watch.

Boy was I wrong…

This absolute beauty from Daniel Wellington first caught my eye in one of Megsays’ YouTube videos, I haven’t showcased it quite as well as she has, but the hands of the watch are a beautiful electric blue which made me fall in love with life all over again. Yes, it’s that serious.

This watch is a mix of the old classic vintage look with the gold framing and tan leather strap with a splash of modern style, and I couldn’t wait any longer to get it!

why is my arm so hairy?

I bagged this beauty for £90, yes £90!! Click here to get yours now!

The price tends to fluctuate, so get in there before it goes up again!

Live & die in Topshop

Topshop is GOD.

Well, it’s my god!

Since I was at school, I would save up all my pocket money in attempt to buy even just a pair of socks from Topshop, I longed for the day that I would earn enough money to buy perhaps a top, or a skirt, or maybe even boots?! All in one day. At present day I find it difficult to not wear at least one item from there, how times change!

Topshop has always been a fashion haven to me, it’s my go-to shop for any occasion and the fact that student discount works on sale items makes me want to burst into a million pieces of confetti.

Well boys (maybe?) and girls, I have bought my all time favourite dress.

I’m a bottom heavy athletic build, and as much as I would love to be super cute and petite it’s just not going to happen. This dress makes me feel super cute and petite, and sometimes us lanky girls need to feel as small as a field mouse. This dress really helped. This is also probably the shortest dress I own too, such a little floozy.

I also never approved of blondes wearing yellow, so thanks Topshop for breaking my rules as well as my bank account.

I forgive you x

I will try and take better photos next time…

If you love this dress as much as I do, you can find it here for an absolute bargain of £42 (£37.80 with student discount!)
